Thanks to the volunteers of the Friends of the Library, the next two months will be filled with special events for the whole family to enjoy, in addition to regular library programs.
The Friends of the Phelan Memorial Library are holding a Basket Raffle. Baskets will be on display from Nov. 2 through Dec. 18, 2024. Stop by the library to check out a variety of themed baskets, including Gardening, Self-Care, Toy Palooza, Dodgers, Jewelry, Handyman, and more. Tickets can be purchased at the library during regular business hours. Ticket prices are $1 for one ticket, $5 for six tickets, $10 for 13 tickets, and $20 for 30 tickets. Winning tickets will be drawn on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 6 p.m. at the Phelan Memorial Library; winners do not have to be present. All proceeds benefit Phelan Library programs.
The Phelan Memorial Library will also offer a free Family Paint-a-Thon on Saturday, Nov. 23, from 2 to 4 p.m., where families can create a masterpiece to take home. The library is located at 9800 Clovis Road.
The Friends of the Wrightwood Library will hold a Fruit Cake Fundraiser beginning Nov. 4 during regular business hours. Each loaf will be available for $10. Families are also invited to Family Game Time on Saturday, Nov. 9, at 11:30 a.m. The event will include board games, puzzles, and group games for all ages.
An Adult Autumn Holiday Craft will be held on Mondays, Nov. 18 and 25, starting at 5 p.m., with a different craft each week. The event is free.
The Wrightwood Library’s annual Holiday Gift Bookstore sale will begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 30, and continue throughout December during regular library hours. Quality new or like-new books for children and adults will be available, each individually priced and decorated. Find the perfect book to curl up with by the fire this winter, or choose a special book as a gift. All proceeds benefit Wrightwood Library programs and services. The Wrightwood Library is located at the corner of Apple and Pine streets.
