Opening day for the Sunset Community Little League and Wrightwood Little League is set for Saturday, April 11, bringing the communities of Phelan and Wrightwood together to kick off the 2026 baseball season.
Sunset Community Little League’s Opening Ceremony will be at Serrano High School. Festivities begin at 8:30 a.m. with activities on the field, while the official ceremony starts at 10:30 a.m. The ceremony will include the National Anthem, presentation of the Hometown Hero Award, first pitch of the season, and recognition of all 38 teams with a record number of 450 players! The day will conclude with showcase games on the Serrano Varsity fields with both Junior Softball and Baseball playing at 1:00pm vs Wrightwood Little League and at 3:00pm, the Senior Baseball team will also get to play on the Serrano Varsity field!
Throughout the day, attendees can enjoy food from local vendors, fundraiser raffle with various prizes, gear-swap table, and the fan wear shop offering this season’s merchandise. Community members can visit with the San Bernardino Fire Department, Phelan Memorial Library, and the Phelan Pinon Hills Community Service District. For more information, visit www.sunsetcll.com.
According to Wrightwood Little League’s Board, the league’s Opening Day will take place on April 11 at 8:30 a.m. on the lower field at Wrightwood Elementary. The day starts with a Pancake Breakfast served by the Serrano High School Fire Cadets, sponsored by local Fire Department 935, for just $5. The Opening Day Ceremony will include team introductions, the unveiling of the brand new scoreboard, and a special surprise guest throwing out the first pitch. Games will be held throughout the day.
