Giddy Up! because there’s a new restaurant now open in the Tri-Community. Rodeo Cafe celebrated its grand opening on Friday, April 19th, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce.
Rodeo Cafe is located in Pinon Hills, where the previous Casa Ortega restaurant was before closing in 2022. With new owners and renovations throughout, Rodeo Cafe provides a fresh new take on dining options for local residents to experience.
The restaurant is family-owned and operated by Maria and Jesus, along with their son Orlando, but this isn’t their first rodeo. The family owns several other Rodeo Cafe locations sprinkled throughout Southern California, including locations in Rancho Cucamonga, Riverside, Rialto, Norco, Mira Loma, and Corona.
The family is proud to open their newest location right here in the Tri-Community and mentioned that they chose to open in Pinon Hills because it was a unique space conveniently located off the highway.
“We just thought it was a great place, lots of cars passing by every day. It’s a great business opportunity, and our theme fits the community,” said owner and manager Orlando Castellon.
The rodeo theme is apparent as soon as you walk in the door, where you are greeted by their logo, a silhouette of a cowboy riding a bucking horse, displayed against the wall on a large metal cut-out. The Western motif continues in their menu with items like “John Wayne’s Favorite,” which is eggs and potatoes atop a flour tortilla between 2 sausage patties with cheese. There’s also the “Rodeo Meal,” which is a steak and eggs breakfast, or for lunch, the “Rodeo Burger,” which is a Kobe beef patty with cheese, grilled onions, and bacon. There are many more delicious food options to choose from, and the restaurant also offers specialty drinks with a full-service bar.
I ordered the French Toast breakfast, which was delicious. It came out promptly, even though the restaurant was bustling that particular morning in anticipation of the grand ribbon-cutting celebration.
During the opening ceremony, the owners, servers, and staff gathered in front of the restaurant while members of the Pinon Hills Chamber presented the group with an official “Certificate of Membership” plaque. As the ribbon was cut and cheers were given, a rousing speech of gratitude and thanks was said:
“On behalf of my family and staff, we want to say thank you very much for welcoming us into this lovely community. We’re so happy to be a part of this community; we already feel so much support,” said Orlando.
The Rodeo Cafe is committed to offering delicious quality meals and an exceptional dining experience and invites the Tri-Community to come in and visit their newest restaurant.
“We want you to feel like you’re at home, and we want to let the community know that we’re going to be here for a long time,” said Orlando.
Rodeo Cafe is located at 593 Hwy 138 in Pinon Hills and is open for breakfast and lunch Monday through Friday from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 am to 3:00 pm.
