Free tax preparation and electronic filing continues on March 9 and 23, as well as on April 6, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Phelan Senior Center, provided by AARP and IRS joint sponsors of the TAX-AIDE program. Services are offered on a first-come, first-served basis to senior citizens as well as individuals with low to moderate income.
Attendees are required to bring their previous year’s tax return, along with actual Social Security cards for all individuals listed on the return (a Social Security statement with pink stripes is acceptable). Additionally, a valid government-issued photograph ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, is necessary for both yourself and your spouse. For joint filings, both spouses must be present to sign the return. It is also essential to bring all relevant tax documents for 2025, including last year’s tax return, W-2s, 1099s, and 1095s. For any inquiries, please contact Gloria at (760) 474-0168 and kindly leave a message. Phelan Senior Center is located at 4128 Warbler Road.
Also, free tax preparation services are available at the Phelan Memorial Library on March 19th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm., and at the Wrightwood Library on April 2nd from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. To schedule an appointment at either library, please call 877-410-8829.
