The Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce annual Summerfest was June 1st, at 2 pm, on the sprawling grass field at Pinion Hills Elementary School, perfect for the mid-day heat.
The Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors was present to warmly welcome everyone and distribute passports for the event. Visitors were encouraged to interact with the numerous booths set up by local vendors, getting their passports stamped for a chance to enter a drawing.
With the sun shining at a pleasant 80 degrees, the event was a perfect opportunity for kids to enjoy the huge water slides and beat the heat. The kid’s zone was a hub of activity, with 2 toddler bounce obstacle courses and a large obstacle course for older kids, ensuring a fun-filled day for all.
Two performances took place during the Summerfest: Dance Starz and Kingdom Gymnastics. These are both local dance and gymnastics studios with open enrollment.
20 or so small business vendors had booths with unique organization, services, and items for purchase, like Baa Baa Baa Petting Zoo and Pony Rides out of Wrightwood; youngsters were thrilled to see and touch small, adorable animals in a safe environment or enjoy their first pony ride.
Sunshine & Buns Rabbit Rescue is unique because one does not often think of a rabbit needing a new home. Did you know that rabbits are the third most popular pet and the third most abandoned pet? Sunshine rescues them and helps find them loving homes.
Dr. Dawn Merge had a booth. She is a local author with many books centered around family trips over the years written into fairy tale adventures.
The Pinon Hills Chamber of Commerce proudly supports the Cottage Industry, which includes small manufacturing businesses owned by local individuals or families, typically operating out of a home. Summerfest is a great way to introduce those entrepreneurs to consumers in the area, and folks can find wonderful gifts and services locally.
