Local Agencies Join Forces for Wildfire Education in Wrightwood

The Wrightwood Fire Safe Council will host the Wildfire and Disaster Awareness Day on Saturday, May 10, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Mountain Hardware, located at 1390 Highway 2 in Wrightwood.

The event aims to educate the community on emergency preparedness and response procedures. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from the Angeles and San Bernardino National Forests, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire), Los Angeles County Agricultural Commission, San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, San Bernardino County Fire Department, SBC Fire Emergency Communications Service, Wrightwood Community Emergency Response Team (CERT), and Wrightwood Fire Safe Council.

These agencies will provide demonstrations and be available to answer questions. Families are encouraged to attend and participate in activities including CERT demonstrations, fire truck displays, and visits with Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog. Mountain Hardware will also offer free popcorn and a complimentary kids’ Mother’s Day project.

The event is sponsored by the Wrightwood Fire Safe Council, Cal Fire, CR&R Environmental, Wrightwood Community Services District, Mountain High, Wrightwood CERT, Mountain Hardware, San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, and San Bernardino County Fire. Funding is provided by the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection’s Fire Prevention Program.
