The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is offering the Lady Be Aware course a one-day, 8-hour training designed to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to protect themselves from potential threats to their personal safety. The course will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026 at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center, located at 18901 Institution Road in Devore.
The first half of the course is classroom-based, covering essential topics such as cyber safety, home safety, and situational awareness. Participants will learn to recognize and avoid potential dangers in various environments. The second half involves hands-on training, including weaponless defensive tactics and an introduction to handling firearms.
The course is open to women aged 16 and older; those under 18 can enroll with a guardian. The cost of the training is $75 per person.
