Hello Tri-Community! My name is Deseree and I am excited to start my journey as a reporter for the NewsPlus team!
Originally from Long Beach, most of my life I had imagined I would end up in the heart of a big city, like New York. However, as I got older, met my amazing husband, and we had our daughter, it was the small-town life I began to crave. Having a nice house, with a good chunk of land to make our own little farm life on—that was the dream for our little family.
My husband grew up here, so I was fortunate enough to experience the desert life whenever we came up to visit my in-laws. I knew this would be a change from the city life I had grown up in, but I couldn’t have imagined just how much I would fall in love with everything this beautiful place has to offer! From the picturesque daily sunsets to the clear night skies filled with more stars than you could even imagine, this place has a magic all its own.
We moved up here just over a year ago, and what an adventurous year it has been! Slowly but surely we are building that farm life we want. We’ve hatched and raised quail and added more animals to our family. We’ve even come across our first few snakes! Experiencing sledding in snow in our own backyard was like a dream come true. We’ve met lots of wonderful people and made new friends, and we’re just getting started. The Tri-Community has so many wonderful things to offer, and there are so many adventures to be had in nature right at our fingertips!
I am thrilled to join the NewsPlus team, and I am looking forward to meeting more of you as I head out to get the scoop on articles to come!
