Caltrans announced that construction work will be taking place in various locations along the 15 freeway.
Daytime Construction on Hwy 138 in the Cajon Pass
Starting on Monday, January 29th, construction crews will be working from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm on the bridge deck rehabilitation along the 138. Roads will still be open, but expect the following locations to have road work signs, including I-15 North-Bound and South-Bound to Hwy 138 and on Hwy 138 heading East and West. The I-15 North-Bound and South-Bound at Cleghorn Road will also be affected. The rehabilitation work is scheduled from Monday, January 29th, through Friday, February 2nd, weather permitting.
Overnight Construction on the I-15 in the Cajon Pass
Also on Monday, January 29th, construction work will be taking place in the Cajon Pass from 8:00 pm-5:00 am. Lane closures can vary from 1-4 lanes during this time, along with ramp and connector closures. According to Caltrans, “Work performed will include improving highway worker safety by implementing vegetation control, rock blanket installation, stamped concrete in areas beyond the gore, and signpost sleeves at various locations.” Alternate lane closures that will be affected include:
I-15 CAJON PASS TO RANCHO CUCAMONGA: Alternating lane reductions and lane closures going North and South on the I-15 freeway from just north of Hwy 138 in the Cajon Pass to Baseline Road/East Ave in Rancho Cucamonga and a full closure heading North Bound on the I-15 from Baseline Road/East Ave to the Hwy 138.
GLEN HELEN PARKWAY: Full closure for North-Bound on-ramp and off-ramps at Glen Helen Pkwy to Interstate 15 and full closure for East and West along Glen Helen Pkwy to Interstate I-15.
This project will only take one night; work will end Tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m., weather permitting.
Continued Meter On-Ramp Sign Work Along I-15
Work will continue to replace existing on-ramp signs with flashing warning signals. Daytime construction will be from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m and overnight work from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Lane reductions, ramp closures, and shoulder work will take place along the I-15 from Jurupa Street in Ontario to Nisqually Road/ La Mesa Road in Victorville. On-ramps for both North and South bound will be affected. The project is ongoing and expected to be completed by April 30th, 2024, weather permitting.
