A celebration of the life of Dick Branaman, 86, former Wrightwood resident who passed away Sunday evening, Nov. 10, at the Johnson County Healthcare Center in Buffalo, Wyoming, will be held by his family and friends at a time to be announced. Richard Eugene Branaman was born on April 4, 1938, in Eugene, Oregon. He grew up and attended school at St. John’s Orphanage in Fargo, North Dakota. After high school, he attended the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He was married on Sept. 15, 1959, in Milton, North Dakota, to Casey Hebert, and they made their home in Grand Forks, where Dick worked as an accountant at the Air Force Base. They later moved from Grand Forks to Anaheim, California, and in 1972 to Wrightwood, California, where Dick had a private accounting practice. In 1992, Dick and Casey moved to Buffalo, Wyoming, where he continued working as an accountant while commuting to California to serve his clients. He retired in September of this year and continued living in Buffalo.
Dick was a model train enthusiast and enjoyed outdoor photography. His passion was his family and spending time together.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Casey Branaman; one son, Kenneth Branaman of Buffalo; three daughters, Dawn Markovsky and her husband, Bret, of Buffalo, Patricia Thibodeau and her husband, Paul, of Wrightwood, and Danielle Haskell and her husband, John, also of Wrightwood; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Debra Branaman.
