The Don Ferrarese Foundation will host its annual Santa’s Sleigh Drive Mini-Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Scandia Fun Center in Victorville. The event supports the Santa’s Sleigh toy drive, which provides holiday gifts to children in the Victor Valley region, including many from Snowline schools.
Santa’s Sleigh, founded by the Tate family in 2005, collects wish lists from local children and their siblings, ages 0 to 17, who are referred by school staff. Volunteers then shop for items on the lists, with up to $150 spent per child. The holiday event includes a gift distribution where children open their presents with Santa, take family portraits, and enjoy activities such as coloring, games, and hot cocoa.
The mini-golf tournament serves as a fundraiser for the toy drive. Registration begins at 7 a.m. on the day of the event, with the tournament starting at 8 a.m. The cost is $50 for a team of four or $15 for individual players, who will be grouped into teams. Each player will receive a grab bag, food and drinks, and a raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams, who will receive plaques recognizing their achievement, with winners determined by the team’s stroke average. A special prize will also be given to the team that shows the most spirit or unity, encouraging participants to coordinate their attire for added fun.
Sponsorship opportunities are available, including $100 hole sponsorships, $250 co-sponsorships, and $500 event sponsorships. Those interested in sponsoring or donating raffle prizes can contact Morgan Reed at [email protected] or Dan Tate at [email protected]. Sponsors are asked to submit graphics in PDF format by September 16, 2024, for signage purposes.
Current sponsors include Phelan Express, Family Assistance Program, and Morgan Reed as event sponsors, and CARS of Hesperia as a co-sponsor. Hole sponsors include The Wild Rose hair salon, Phelan Pizza Factory, The Ranch Restaurant, Stewart United Insurance, and the Snowline Teachers’ Association.
