UPDATED: HAM Radio Technician Class Rescheduled for Jan. 21st & 22nd

Tri-Community NewsPlus

Due to more rain in the forecast for this weekend, the Wrightwood CERT team had to postpone the Ham Radio Class until Saturday, January 21st and Sunday, January 22nd instead of on Saturday, January 14th, and Sunday, January 15th. Classes will still be held from 8:00 am-6:30 pm, both days, in the Wrightwood Community Building and taught by instructor Rick Danzey. The Technician Class license is an entry-level license that allows you to be very involved in HAM radio and is a great place to start for new HAM radio operators. Students must attend both days, and the exam will take place on Sunday at 4:00 pm, during the scheduled class time. The cost is $15 to take the exam. Once you pass the exam, an additional $35 is needed for the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) to issue you a certified license. If you are interested in attending the classes, please email certwrightwood@gmail.com  to sign up and to receive more information on recommended class materials and practice exams.
