On Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 5:24 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a residential burglary call in the 3900 block of Harding Road, Phelan.
The reporting party called dispatch to report that an unknown male, later identified as 21-year-old Javier Soltero of Fontana, was inside her home. The confrontation began outside when the victim approached Soltero in her front yard, resulting in Soltero seizing the victim’s cell phone before fleeing into the residence.
Once inside, Soltero reportedly armed himself with a BB gun found at the location and fired it multiple times, striking the victim in the arm.
Upon the arrival of deputies, the victim was located and safely escorted away. The victim was transported to a local hospital by family for medical attention.
Soltero, however, remained barricaded inside and refused to comply with orders, arming himself with a knife. Specialized Enforcement Division then responded to the scene, and with their assistance, Soltero exited the residence.
Soltero was taken into custody and booked at the High Desert Detention Center on multiple felony charges, including: Burglary, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Vandalism.
