It’s time to “Spring Forward” and set your clocks ahead one hour. Daylight saving time begins on Sunday, March 10th 2024. This event has been observed for 115 years. While you’re setting your clocks forward it’s a good time to think about changing the batteries in your smoke/carbon monoxide detectors as well.
Also in March, Spring begins on March 19, 2024. On the first day of Spring- the Vernal Equinox, day and night are each approximately 12 hours long. The Sun crosses the celestial equator going northward; it rises exactly due east and sets exactly due west. The word equinox means equal night.
