Blood Donations Needed as LifeStream Visits Phelan and Wrightwood

Tri-Community NewsPlus

LifeStream Blood Bank’s mobile unit will be making several stops in the Tri-Community during April 2025, offering local residents the chance to make a life-saving difference by donating blood. Community members are encouraged to participate, as the need for blood donations remains high in the region.

The mobile unit will first visit Phelan on Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to noon at Phelan Elementary, located at 4167 Phelan Road. This visit provides an excellent opportunity for Phelan residents to come together and support those in need by donating blood.

Later in the month, the LifeStream mobile unit will head to Wrightwood for two separate events. The first will take place on Friday, April 25, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Wrightwood Community Building, located at 1275 State Highway 2. The second Wrightwood visit is scheduled for Sunday, April 27, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Hillside Community Church, located at 3221 State Highway 2. These events are aimed at accommodating a wide range of schedules, ensuring more community members have the chance to participate.

LifeStream Blood Bank emphasizes that donating blood is a simple yet impactful way to help those in medical need. All volunteer blood donors must be at least 15 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health. Those under 17 are required to provide a signed parental consent form. LifeStream staff members will be on-site to guide donors through the process, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience.

Blood donations are vital for maintaining a stable blood supply, which is crucial for patients undergoing surgery, cancer treatment, or trauma care. Each donation has the potential to save multiple lives, making every contribution valuable. The LifeStream Blood Bank encourages both regular donors and first-timers to take part in this community effort.

To schedule an appointment with the LifeStream mobile units or for more information, visit lstream.org or call 800-879-4484. Walk-ins may be accepted as time and space allow, but scheduling ahead is recommended to secure a spot.
