Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering a free three-day basic training disaster preparedness course. Take steps to prepare before a disaster and learn to care for yourself, family, and community during a disaster. The classes will be held at the Phelan Community Center located at 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan and presented by the Phelan-Pinon Hills CERT. The three-day training begins Friday, April 10, from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday, April 11th and on Sunday, April 12th from 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.
CERT offers a nationwide approach to volunteer training and organization that professional responders can rely on during disaster situations. The Basic CERT program consists of training focusing on disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and other subjects pertinent to survival for the community. Training is free. Attendees must be 18 yrs+ old and are required to attend ALL sessions to get certified.
