The Lady Be Aware class offered by San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026. The course will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center, located at 18901 Institution Road in Devore.
This one-day, eight hour training is open to women aged 16 and older and designed to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to protect themselves from potential threats to their personal safety. The first half of the course is classroom-based to learn to recognize and avoid potential dangers in various environments. The second half involves hands-on training, including weaponless defensive tactics and an introduction to handling firearms.
Those under 18 can enroll with a guardian. The cost of the training is $75 per person. Due to its popularity, spots fill up quickly, so early registration is encouraged. To reserve your place, email [email protected]. The next month’s class will beld on May 16, 2026.
