On Thursday, September 25, 2025, deputies from the Victor Valley Police Station responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 11100 Block of Anderson Rancho Road in Phelan. Anthony Perez was reportedly intoxicated and began damaging property inside the home he shared with his ex-wife and children.
When the first deputy arrived, Perez armed himself with a weapon. He ignored multiple commands to put the weapon down and advanced toward the deputy, prompting a lethal-force encounter. Perez was not struck and retreated into the residence. The deputy again gave him commands to surrender. Perez later exited the home and was arrested by deputies. No injuries were reported, and he was taken into custody.
Perez remains in custody and is facing possible charges of resisting an executive order, brandishing a firearm or deadly weapon with intent to resist arrest, disorderly conduct, and vandalism.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division responded and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing.
