The Wrightwood Community Service District has announced a Strategic Visioning and Planning Workshop—a pivotal gathering aimed at shaping the future of the community of Wrightwood. This engaging event will take place at the Wrightwood Community Building on Saturday, March 29th, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Everyone living in the community of Wrightwood is encouraged to join this free event, which aims to craft a clear and compelling mission and vision for the WCSD, ensuring that it serves our community’s needs effectively in the years to come. Here’s everything you need to know about this important event:

WHEN IS IT?

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 29th, from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wrightwood Community Building, located at 1275 Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.

CAN’T MAKE IT TO THE WHOLE EVENT?

Your voice matters! Participation is essential; the more insights that are gathered from the community, the more precise and impactful the strategic plan will be. The WCSD is hopeful that participants will stay for the duration of the workshop. To sweeten the deal, those who stay throughout the workshop will have a chance to win exciting opportunity drawings and gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, supporting our vibrant local economy. A brief break will also be offered around 2:00 PM, and light refreshments will be available for everyone to enjoy throughout the day.

If you can’t attend, don’t worry! You can still make your voice heard by completing an online form available on the WCSD website. While the workshop will not be live-streamed or recorded, your insights can still shape the discussions. Share your thoughts on pivotal topics such as Parks & Recreation, Street Lighting, Solid Waste & Recycling, Wastewater Planning & Engineering, and any other improvements or initiatives that you envision for Wrightwood. Please submit your online feedback by the deadline of Wednesday, March 19th https://wrightwoodcsd.org/

I’VE NEVER BEEN TO A PUBLIC WORKSHOP—WHAT IS IT LIKE?

This workshop will be facilitated by Brent Ives of BHI Management and Consulting, a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in management and organizational behavior since 1997. Known for his expertise in special districts, public agencies, nonprofits, and small businesses, Mr. Ives is passionate about helping organizations lay a strong foundation for future success. According to his website,“We are dedicated to helping your organization lay an improved foundation to support your current situation and the direction in which you are headed.” (www.bhiconsulting.com)

He will begin the workshop with an engaging presentation, outlining the event’s structure and highlighting key topics of discussion before transitioning into an interactive and collaborative session designed to gather the community’s insights and experiences.

WHY DO WE NEED THIS?

The purpose of this workshop is to collect invaluable input that will help forge a robust strategic plan, empowering the WCSD to operate with clear intent, direction, and measurable outcomes. This initiative aims to enhance public service and strengthen community impact. Mr. Ives will compile the community’s feedback from the workshop to help shape the foundation and develop a strategic plan, one that outlines the WCSD’s mission, vision, and long-term goals while providing a structured framework for achieving desired results. The strategic plans will not only guide the organization in effectively applying for grants but also facilitate coordination with other governmental entities, ultimately creating a stronger and more resilient Wrightwood community.
