Southern California Edison was out in full force Saturday, January 21, 2023, bright and early, to begin upgrading the powerlines on Wilson Ranch Road in Phelan. S.C.E. will replace the existing high-voltage main line wires with fire-retardant insulated conductors. New fiberglass-type crossbars will replace the current wooden supports.

Several bucket trucks, service vehicles, linemen, and their crews proceeded south of Phelan Road, down Wilson Ranch Road, in a planned power shutdown from 8:00 am, until 4:00 pm.

Wildfire mitigation funds are being used to update power equipment across the state to prevent wildfire damage to infrastructure. The power was restored on schedule.
