A Community Benefit for the families affected by the recent Hwy. 2 tragedy will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, from 3 to 8 p.m. at Natalie’s Park located at 5995 Mill Rd in Wrightwood.
Community members are invited to stop by for a little while or stay for the entire event. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair, bring the kids and spend some time with neighbors.
Organizers emphasize that this gathering is not a memorial or vigil. Instead, it is intended to bring the community together to enjoy live music and offer direct financial support to families who lost loved ones.
A suggested donation of $20 will be accepted, while children 12 and under may attend for free. Organizers said every dollar raised will go directly to the affected families. Event expenses are being donated, sponsored or covered separately so that contributions can go toward the families.
For those who would like to contribute but cannot attend, ticket donations can also be made online through the event’s Givebutter page: Community Benefit Donations.
The Lone Pine Canyon Protection Alliance organized the benefit as a way for the community to come together during a difficult time while providing tangible support to those affected by the tragedy.
Community members are welcome to attend for any amount of time and are encouraged to bring their families and neighbors.
