On November 22 at about 5:00 pm, Just west of the sandstone hills known as Mormon Rocks, a woman’s body was found deceased along Highway 138 in West Cajon Valley near the Cajon Pass. She was found eastbound on the right shoulder of the highway.
The CHP responded to a call of an adult white female lying halfway in a ditch, visible from Highway 138, wearing blue jeans, black socks, and a black shirt.
As reported, CHP found her west of the USFS Fire Station. Her identity is being withheld temporarily to inform her next of kin. This case is not being treated as a homicide as of yet. The case is still under investigation with the SBC Sheriff’s and is pending the findings from the corner report as to the cause of her death will determine if it is a homicide or not. However, homicide detectives did arrive on the scene to consult on the findings with SBC Sheriff’s deputies.
Tragically, just one week earlier, on November 16, another woman’s body was found in a desert field off Highway 395 in the City of Victorville. She was identified as 34-year-old Vanessa Vidal, a resident from LA Country from Pico Rivera, California. In her case, she had suffered traumatic injuries, and homicide detectives are investigating this case.
