Everyone is invited to walk the Wrightwood Village Trail, which will be lined with 1,000 Luminarias from Fire Station #14 on the corner of Elm and Hwy 2 to Lone Pine Canyon on Saturday, December 16, and Sunday, December 17 from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Station #14’s parking lot will be alive with fire rings, Christmas carols, and booths selling hot chocolate, cider, donuts, hand warmers, and Christmas/Memorial hearts.
Several Christmas trees will decorate the corner of Hwy 2 and Lone Pine, with one designated as a Memorial Tree. Those wishing to dedicate a decoration to a loved one may bring an ornament, ribbon, etc., to hang on the tree. Memorial hearts, on which the name of the loved one can be written, will be available for purchase. Christmas hearts will also be available; the suggested donation for hearts is $3/ea. All money collected from the purchase of hearts will be donated to the Village Trail. Families, individuals, or businesses will decorate the remaining trees.
Those interested in decorating a tree may contact Russ Drew at (951) 453-7048. These trees will remain up until after the New Year. Attendees are asked to bring an unwrapped toy for the Spark of Love drive or a canned or boxed food item that will be donated to the local food bank. If you are interested in volunteering to help or have questions, please call Russ Drew at (951) 453-7048. It is hoped that this event will be the beginning of something great.
