Veterans Day is tomorrow and we would like to thank all of the men and women who have served. For those who live in freedom will always be grateful to those who helped preserve it. On Friday, November 10th, 2023
Senior Line Dancing – From 8:30am – 11:00am, great fun and exercise while learning to line dance and the best part is it’s FREE! Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.
Senior Game Day – From 10:00am – 4:00pm. Seniors step into the air-conditioned Phelan Senior Center to play games including Cribbage. The popular UNO card game begins at 3:00pm and ends at 6:00pm. Location: Phelan Senior Center, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.
Free Admission for Veterans at Forever Wild – From 12:00pm-5:00pm. Admission is free for all Veterans visiting Forever Wild this weekend. Regular Admission: $15, Seniors (60+): $12, Child (Ages 3-12): $10, Children 2 and under: Free of charge. Location: Forever Wild Animal Sanctuary 8545 Buttemere Road in Phelan.
Wrightwood Farmers Market – From 3:00pm – 6:00pm, locally grown fresh produce, artisan baked goods, jams, coffee, olive oil, honey, natural beauty products & soaps, and crafters can often be found at the Market. Location: In the Wrightwood Community Building at the corner of Park Drive and Hwy 2.
Friday Night Steak Dinner at The VFW – From 5:00pm-7:00pm, all are welcome to visit the VFW and get a complete delicious steak dinner ($22), alternate meals change each week between Ribs($14), Chicken($12), Pork Chops($12), and Fish n Chips($12) or a vegetarian alternate dinner. Kids meals available too! Proceeds help support the programs and outreach of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Phelan. Location: VFW Post 9415 in Phelan at the corner of Nielson and Johnson Roads.
Can I Tell You a Secret? A Serrano Theater Arts Performance – From 7:00pm. Experience the electrifying thriller: Trap by Stephen Gregg! Tickets are $7 for adult and $5 for students and seniors. Location: Serrano Performing Arts Center on Sheep Creek Rd in Phelan.

Kids Fall Painting Class– From 9:00am- 12:00pm. 9am ages 5-12. 11am ages 13 & up. Spend a fun morning creating a Fall masterpiece. RSVP required at www.pphcsd.org/events. Location: Phelan Senior Center 4128 Warbler Road in Phelan.
Our Lady of the Snows Pumpkin Bread Sale – From 10:00am. For Sale: Delicious home made Pumpkin Bread and Bags with ingredients to bake your own bread for sale. Shop early, breads sell out fast. Location: Mountain Hardware on Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.
Community Teaching Garden – From 10:00am. Gardening 101. Using a Greenhouse. Learn how simple gardening can be from Master Gardener Michelle Hannon. New topic each month. Free class. All ages welcome. Location: Phelan Community Park 4176 Warbler & Sheep Creek Roads in Phelan.
Wrightwood Veterans Day Ceremony- From 10:45am. Come early! 11am the Armistice Bell will toll 11 bells, presentation of Colors, Laying of the Wreath, reading of the names enshrined on the newly placed Honor Bricks in the courtyard. A special tribute to Ron Parody and Harlan Lassiter, recently passed away, for their dedication to the Wrightwood Memorial. Location: Wrightwood Veterans Memorial Evergreen Road between Park and Pine Streets.
Phelan Veterans Day Ceremony VFW #9415– From 11:00am. Ceremony begins sharply at 11am with the raising of The Flag, Patriotic medley followed by a Flag Retirement Ceremony by local Boy Scout Troop #351 and a Potluck Lunch. Public invited. Location: VFW Post #9415 at 4892 Nielson Road in Phelan.
