The Holiday season is in full swing as folks recover from Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday. Now it’s time to take a pause and enjoy some great local, hometown activities that showcase just how great the Tri-Community is.

On Friday, December 3, 2021

Senior Line Dancing – From 8:30am – 11:00am, great fun and exercise while learning to line dance and the best part is it’s FREE! Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.

Wrightwood Farmers Market – From 4:00pm – 7:00pm, locally grown fresh produce, artisan baked goods, jams, coffee, olive oil, honey, natural beauty products & soaps, and crafters can often be found at the Market. In the Wrightwood Community Building in Wrightwood, at the corner of Park Drive and Hwy 2.

Friday Night Steak Dinner At The VFW – From 5:00-7:00pm, all are welcome to visit the VFW and get a complete delicious steak dinner ($18), alternate meals change each week between Ribs($16), Chicken($12), Pork Chops($12), and Fish n Chips($12) or a vegetarian alternate dinner. Kids meals available too! and support the local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post in Phelan. Location: VFW Post 9415 in Phelan at the corner of Nielson and Johnson Roads.

Phelan Christmas Tree Lighting – Starts at 6:00pm. Enjoy this annual event with the lighting of the tree by Honorary Phelan Mayor Todd Anton. Visit with Santa and take selfies with him while drinking hot chocolate and eating candy canes. Location: Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.

Senior UNO Game Evening – From 6:00 – 9:00pm, Seniors are welcome to enjoy an evening of UNO with drinks and dessert. Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.

Diamondback Football Home Game – Starts at 7:30 pm, the Serrano Diamondbacks will battle Central Valley Christian for the Southern California State Regional Championship on December 3rd, at home. The game will be played at the Diamondback’s Stadium at Serrano High School in Phelan and starts at 7:30 pm with the gates open at 6:30 pm. Tickets are available through GoFan.co. Location: Serrano High School Cafeteria at 9292 Sheep Creek Road in Phelan.

SHS Choir Christmas Dinner Show – Starts at 7:00 pm, Enjoy a full dinner with live entertainment by SHS Choir Dept. Tickets $25-$35 available in person or online: Serrano High School Choir Dept-Music. Location: Serrano High School Cafeteria at 9292 Sheep Creek Road in Phelan.

On Saturday, December 4, 2021

Bald Eagle Boat Tour – From 9:30 am – 11:30 am. Bring the family for a barge tour and spot bald eagles wintering at the lake. Bring binoculars, water & snacks.  Tour is free with paid park entrance fee of $10 per car.  Reserve your spot on eventbrite.com by 5pm the day before. Location: Silverwood Lake Recreational Area at Hwy 138 in Hesperia.

J&D’s T-Bird Holiday Craft Fair – From 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Start your holiday shopping early with craft vendors from around the community.  Karaoke by Pete, misc vendors & more. Food and craft vendors welcome. Location: J&D’s T-Bird at 3936 Phelan Road in Phelan.

Mama Maria’s Angel Tree Gift Program Fundraiser – All day, eat at Mama Maria’s and they will donate 20% of all sales to the Angel Tree program.  Location: Mama Maria’s in Phelan at 4550 Phelan Road.  

Ongoing Holiday Activities

WONDERLAND OF LIGHTS

Many amazing hand-crafted displays; automated Ferris wheel, light show with over 40,000 lights and more located at 6556 Del Rosa Rd.  From Phelan Rd take Wilson Ranch Rd north to right on Del Rosa.

MISTLETOE LIGHTS SHOW

 Bring the family to a spectacular 2.5 acre display of over 500,000 lights.  Admission is free. Donations are appreciated.  Amazing displays, some over 30 feet high.  You can walk or drive your vehicle through this wonderland of lights.  They are open, weather permitting, Sun-Thurs 6-8pm, Fri & Sat 6-9pm.  Check their Facebook page for updates.  Please do not touch or go near or around any displays or lights on the property.  And, be respectful, kind, and pick up your trash during your visit.  Mistletoe Light Show is located at 2478 Sierra Rd from Phelan Rd take Sheep Creek north 3 miles, left on Duncan 2 miles, left on Buckwheat. Look for all the colorful lights.

ANGEL TREE GIFT PROGRAM

The Phelan Chamber of Commerce’s Angel Tree Program has returned, providing tri-community children in need with new Christmas toys and clothing. The Angel Trees are decorated with paper angels with the first name, age and gender of each child in need. Donors remove one or more angels from the tree and purchase appropriate gifts for each child. The trees will be placed in the community through Dec. 11 at DCB in Phelan/Wrightwood, Coldwell Banker, Pizza Factory, Mama Maria’s, Mills Hardware, Rick’s Roadside Cafe and the Phelan Pinon Hills CSD.  Please return the gifts to any angel tree by Dec. 11, 2021.
