It’s officially August, which means back-to-school is just around the corner. We’ve rounded up a list of events, so you can make the most of the weekend. Senior Line Dancing – From 8:30am – 11:00am, great fun and exercise while learning to line dance and the best part is it’s FREE! Location: Phelan Senior Center at the Phelan Community Park, 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan.
Senior Game Day – From 10:00am-4:00pm. NOW meeting at Pinon Hills Senior Center. Cribbage 10am-1pm, Dominoes 1-4pm. Seniors come by for a visit & info about becoming a member. Location: 10433 Mountain Road in Pinon Hills.
Wrightwood Farmers Market – From 4:00pm – 7:00pm, locally grown fresh produce, artisan baked goods, jams, coffee, olive oil, honey, natural beauty products & soaps, and crafters. Location: Wrightwood Community Building at the corner of Park Drive and Hwy 2.
Friday Night Dinner– From 5:00pm-7:00pm. Complete delicious dinner. Steak (every Friday). Alternatives change each week between Ribs, Chicken, Pork Chops, Fish ‘n Chips. Prices vary. Cash only. Vegetarian option available. Everyone is Welcome. Location: Phelan VFW 4892 Nielson Road in Phelan.

VFW Swap Meet– From 7:00am. Come wheel & deal. Find that perfect treasure. Playground for kids, food & drinks available. Swap meet spaces available for $5. Location: Phelan VFW Post #9415 at 4892 Nielson Road in Phelan.
Smokey Bear’s Birthday Party – From 10:00am-1:00pm. Celebrate Smokey’s 82nd Birthday. Meet Smokey & his forest buddies, crafts, tours, cake & more. Family fun, free. Location: Big Pines Visitor Center on Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.
Live Music at Village Grind– From 1:00pm-4:00pm. Listen to live music by the Groove Hunters band while enjoying a coffee, beer, or wine on the patio. Location: The Village Grind on Park Dr in Wrightwood.
Live Music at Wrightwood Brew– From 1:00pm-4:00pm. Hear live music by Bitter Honey (The Dynamic Duo). Enjoy good food and cold beer. Location: Wrightwood Brew at the top of Park Dr in Wrightwood.
Mt. High North Lodge Concert – From 5:00pm-9:00pm. Live music by Winslow Band- Enjoy 90’s Classic Country and 60’s, 70’s, 80’s Classic Rock. Free event. Location: Mt High North Lodge on Hwy 2 in Wrightwood.

Our Lady of the Snows 80th Party– From 9:30am-4:00pm. Day begins with a 9:30am Mass followed by the Festival of fun for the family; music, entertainment, food, games, prizes, kids activities and more. Location: Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church 975 Lark Road in Wrightwood.
Echoes of the Mountain Festival – From 1:30pm-6:30pm. Celebrating the life and music of Jerry Garcia from the Grateful Dead. Enjoy live music by Gale & Co., the Dancing Echoes, and Erick Rodriguez. Location: The Village Grind on Park Dr. in Wrightwood.
Phelan VFW Karaoke – From 2:00pm. Join the Karaoke fun. Public welcome. Location: Phelan VFW Post #9415 at 4892 Nielson Road in Phelan.
