Theresa Roy, age 96, passed away on October 27, 2020, in Victorville, California. A long-time resident of Pinon Hills, California, she formerly resided in Lancaster and Paradise, California.
Terry was born in Blackstone, Massachusetts, in 1924 to Cecile and Ernest Bibeault. She was the oldest of ten children. Their loving family lost their father unexpectedly when he was 44. She was also part of a very large extended family that remained rather close through the years.
While single, Terry worked in a music store in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, where she fed her love of music and was able to meet some well-known musicians and singers of the day. She also enjoyed attending concerts, Red Sox games, traveling to New York to see a show, and vacationing with her sisters on Martha’s Vineyard.
She married Rene Roy in 1953 and moved to California in 1958, where they raised their two daughters Jane (Watkins) and Renee (Hernandez). Terry volunteered in her parish and at her daughters’ schools for many years. She was also very active with the Pinon Hills Seniors.
Terry was not only a good cook but also an accomplished seamstress, sewing all her own clothes for a time. Using her secretarial and bookkeeping skills, she was a partner in Eastern Homes, the business she and Rene owned. She also loved going to breakfast or lunch with her family and friends or just spending time with them, often on the phone in her later years. She enjoyed having a glass of champagne and eating popcorn on Sunday nights while watching a concert on television.
Terry is survived by her daughters as well as five grandchildren: Alicia Sallese, Matthew Hernandez, Anthony Hernandez, Celina Hernandez, Chris Hernandez, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Muriel Spear and Sue Blouin, and her aunt Margaret Aubin, several cousins, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rene, her grandson Troy Rowan, and seven of her siblings. There is no memorial service planned at this time.
