The Children’s Halloween Baking class had a huge turnout, with 24 girls and boys enjoying their Saturday morning creating Halloween goodies at the Community Center in Phelan,
The instructor Lindsey Newman led the class in two creative projects. One was a graveyard mud cup, layered with chocolate pudding, crumbled chocolate cookies topped with gummy worms and clever cookie headstones shapes, made for a spooky graveyard scene, all completely edible. The students also decorated a witch-shaped cookie, detailing her pointy, wicked looking hat.
Kids colored Halloween coloring pages and also received a children’s educational coloring activity book on water conservation. Lastly, the kids gathered in the park for a game of red-light green light to release the sugar high. These projects and activities were wholesome, creative, and free from the PPHCSD Parks & Rec Dept.
Baking classes will return on December 18th, when the instructor will be baking Christmas-themed sugar cookies, just in time for Santa’s visit. Kids will be cutting out sugar cookies for decorations, so don’t miss out. RSVP at 760-868-1212
