The High Desert Astronomical Society (HiDAS) is hosting a telescope viewing event at the Victor Valley Museum on Saturday, July 13, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Visitors can observe constellations and discuss astronomy with trained volunteers from HiDAS, which operates the Luz Observatory in Apple Valley. The society provides and maintains the astronomical equipment for the event. Weather permitting, Cosmic Nights will take place outdoors. Guests are advised to wear comfortable clothing and shoes. They are also encouraged to bring binoculars or their own telescopes.
The museum’s galleries will remain open during the event. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for military personnel and seniors, $7 for students, and $5 for children ages 6 to 12. Children 5 and under enter free. Museum Foundation members receive a 50% discount on admission.
