Educating Parents, Teachers, and Community members about bullying is complex as modern society moves forward. Secret weapons are needed to combat this type of unacceptable behavior.
A modern-day hero, the SoCal Batman is on a mission of kindness to abolish bullying and its effects on all of us. Anywhere, anytime, the SoCal Batman can appear out of nowhere, roaring up on the super-cool Bat Bike to County Fairs, street bazaars, and blood drives. An ambassador of goodwill, his presence commands an audience wherever the SoCal Batman appears.
Bullying can have as many different effects as there are bullying types. According to verywellmind.com, academic, physical, and mental depression, anxiety, and low self-esteem can all be attributed to many varieties of this type of abuse. Bullying has come a long way from the image of a child being harassed by an overwhelming individual (big kid) for his milk money.
Physical and verbal bullying may be the most familiar style of this age-old style of harassment. Still, many have been abused by previously untitled classifications like relational, sexual, and prejudicial bullying. Cyberbullying has taken center stage lately, using electronic devices or online platforms to harass or humiliate someone with false information, embarrassing photos, or hacking accounts. Any way you say it, any kind of bullying can do damage.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and the Department of Education, bullying is any intentional, repeated aggressive behavior directed by a perpetrator against a target in the same age group, with an observed or perceived power imbalance. Bullying can have adverse effects on the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the victims, as well as the bullies themselves. Hostile and unsafe environments enabled by bullying can hamper social learning environments if it is not dealt with on a broad scale.
Getting the point out to promote kindness, animal characters have famously helped society stay in touch with today’s issues. Smokey Bear is a good example of this approach.
