State Senator Rosilicie Ochoa Bogh recently announce a new crisis line for veterans which promises to provide help and resources for Veteran related issues. The announcement was emailed to 23rd District constituents in a letter from Senator Ochoa Bogh. Her letter detailing the new crisis line is reprinted here:

Dear Neighbor, If you or a Veteran you know is going through a tough time, please know that you are not alone. We understand that crises can be overwhelming, but we are here to support you every step of the way. We believe that no Veteran should ever feel unsupported during a crisis. That’s why we urge you to save the new Veterans Crisis Line number – Dial 988 and press 1 – on your phone. You can use it to get the help you or your loved one deserves. When you call the Veterans Crisis Line, you will speak to a qualified and compassionate responder who is ready to listen to your concerns. The responder will ask you a few questions to understand your situation better, so they can provide the appropriate support. The conversation you have with the responder is free, confidential, and judgement-free. You decide how much information you want to share. Additionally, the support doesn’t end once your conversation is over. The responders can connect you with any necessary resources, regardless of whether you are enrolled in VA benefits or healthcare. We understand that seeking help can be challenging, but please know that we are here to support you. You don’t have to go through this alone.
