The Phelan-Pinon Hills CSD Parks & Recreation Department has announced exciting events for the Tri-Community this Spring.
The Earth Day Art Contest is open to students attending school in Phelan and Pinon Hills. Students are expected to submit their artwork on or before 5 pm on April 30th at the PPHCSD office located at 4176 Warbler Road in Phelan. The artwork theme should center around reminding everyone to recycle or conserve water. The contest will have three age categories, from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The top three winners in each age group will receive first place-$100.00, second place-$75.00, and third place-$50.00. An award presentation will occur at the PPHCSD Board meeting on May 8th, 2024. The Kid’s Spring Baking Class, a free fun event where children can make cupcakes with spring-themed decorations, will take place on Saturday, April 20th, in the Phelan Senior Center at 4128 Warbler Road, from 10 am-12 pm. The class is open to ages 5-17, and all minors must be accompanied by an adult. RSVP is required at pphcsd.org.
