Keeping our disabled veterans and seniors at the forefront of concern in the Tri-Community is part of Danny Garcia and the Disabled Senior Veterans Non-Profit Organization’s (DSV) mission statement. DSV will hold its second 911 First Responders Appreciation Lunch at The Pizza Factory in Phelan on Saturday, September 9, 2023, from 2 pm until 5 pm. Admission is free, as is camaraderie and companionship.
In November, The Fifth Annual DSV Non-Profit Luncheon will be held on Veteran’s Day, Saturday, November 11, 2023, also free, at the Pizza Factory, 3936 Phelan Road, Phelan, CA. For info, call (760) 900-8686.
These occasions are terrific opportunities for bringing awareness, guidance, and maybe just some advice to anyone who needs a caring ear to listen to them. Danny Garcia, a co-founder of Disabled Senior-Citizens & Veterans Non-Profit, is that caring ear. Organizing events like the Fifth Annual DSV Non-Profit Luncheon is what keeps his motor running. With a project always in the works, this retired agent of the Southwest Regional Council of Carpenters Union is on a mission to help not only disabled Seniors and Veterans but anybody who has an honest problem.

Moving from Mexico to the United States in 1965, Danny went to school in La Habra, CA, and graduated from Sonora High School in 1973. Relocating to the high desert, he has spent his time in Phelan as a carpenter and craftsman. A retired agent for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners Union, Danny was recently elected to the Board of Retirees. One of his first projects was a neighborhood watch program here in Phelan. Getting motivation from the United States Marines, Danny decided assisting veterans would be a good cause to get involved. This soon expanded into the disabled and seniors as well.
Danny Garcia’s work continues with a “cool” Hot-Line telephone companion number. “I let the telephone do the walking!” Danny said. This phone number is available to anyone with an honest problem that could use a donation of volunteers or good-will type items. Danny likes giving back to the community and is always looking for volunteers and donors. Currently, he is assembling a crew to clean up a portion of East Cajon that has been left derelict for some time. With love and gratitude, Danny would like to thank his wife Antonia and his daughters Bonnie and Stephanie, who are his strength and support. He would also like to thank his nieces and nephews, Nellie, Emily, Natalie, David, and Damian, for their help and dedication, and to Santa and her t-shirts, decorations, and donations at the Fourth Annual DSV Luncheon.
Disabled Seniors & Veterans would also like to thank their donors; The Southwest Regional Counsel Of Carpenter’s Local #909, In Victorville, Super Cuts, Nothing Bundt Cake, Red Lobster, Paisanos Tires, Chik-Fil-A, Steer’n Stein, KFC, Cracker Barrel, Healing for Miles, Farmer Boys, BJ’s and Panera.
