The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is offering the Lady Be Aware course, an 8-hour training designed to teach women safety strategies, self-defense techniques, and firearm safety. The course will take place on Saturday, June 14 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center, located at 18901 Institution Road in Devore.
The program covers personal safety topics such as cyber safety, home security, situational awareness, and hands-on self-defense. Participants will also receive instruction on safe firearm handling. The training helps women recognize potential risks and teaches them how to respond to dangerous situations.
The cost of the course is $75. To register, email the date you would like to attend to [email protected]. Attendees must provide a valid California Driver’s License to enroll. Once registration is confirmed, payment details will be sent. Only credit cards are accepted.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical activity. Flip-flops and shorts are not permitted.
No sessions will be held in July or August. Classes are expected to resume in September, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
