The Holiday Gift-Wrapping Fundraiser is a heartwarming community tradition hosted by Mills Hardware and Tri-Community NewsPlus. Every December, local clubs and organizations volunteer to wrap gifts for the community in exchange for donations. Shoppers can bring their unwrapped gifts to Mills Hardware on select evenings to have them beautifully wrapped while supporting great local causes — 100% of donations go directly to the group on duty that night. Mills Hardware and NewsPlus cover all supplies and promotion, so groups just sign up, show up, and wrap. Together, we make the holidays brighter, one ribbon and bow at a time.

HOW IT WORKS
How Do I Get My Holiday Gifts Wrapped
- BRING YOUR GIFTS: Bring your unwrapped gifts to Mills Hardware at 3936 Phelan Road in Phelan on any of the scheduled days and times.
- ENJOY THE HOLIDAY ATMOSPHERE: Sip a cup of hot cocoa topped with marshmallows and soak in the festive holiday spirit while our community group volunteers wrap your gifts with care.
- WE'LL PROVIDE THE WRAPPING SUPPLIES: We’ll have the wrapping paper, ribbon, bows, and gift tags ready to go — all you need to bring are the gifts! If you’d like your items boxed, please bring a box with you.
- YOUR DONATIONS MAKE A DIFFERENCE: 100% of your donation goes directly to the community group wrapping your gifts. This is a fundraiser, so please consider donating for each gift you have wrapped.
- SPREAD THE CHEER: Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about the Tri-Community Holiday Gift-Wrapping Fundraiser so our local groups can raise the funds they need to continue serving our community.
Community Group Participation Information
- WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: Groups within the Tri-Community are welcome! Eligible participants include school clubs, youth groups, nonprofits, service clubs, and churches. Not sure if your group qualifies? Contact Don Fish Jr. at [email protected].
- HOW TO SIGN UP: Check the schedule and choose your preferred and alternate dates. Dates are first-come, first-served. Click the “I Want My Group to Wrap Gifts” button below or in The Schedule section, complete the form, and submit. We’ll confirm your date and details shortly after we receive your form.
- BUILD YOUR TEAM: Plan for 3–5 volunteers per night. Make sure your team knows how to wrap gifts or can learn quickly — enthusiasm counts!
- ARRIVAL & SETUP: Arrive 20 minutes before start time to get settled. Tables, chairs, tablecloths, a cocoa station, and wrapping supplies will be ready. You can arrange your space however you like. Bring a banner or sign identifying your group — it adds a nice touch!
- DRESS THE PART: This is a cheerful, festive community event. Encourage your team to wear holiday sweaters, hats, or other fun attire.
- DURING & AFTER THE EVENT: Keep volunteers on hand until closing. Plan to stay about 30 minutes afterward to help clean up and pack away supplies.
- INVITE YOUR SUPPORTERS: Encourage your members, families, and friends to stop by during your wrapping night to have their gifts wrapped and make donations. Share your Group Promo Kit on social media, by email, or through your club’s network to spread the word. The more people you bring in, the more your organization earns — and every bit stays local!
- DONATIONS & PARTICIPATION: Your group keeps 100 % of the donations raised during your shift! Groups may participate in up to two dates during the fundraiser period.
- AFTER THE FUNDRAISER: Each night’s proceeds will be verified and recorded. When the fundraiser ends, checks will be issued to each participating group for the total donations they earned.
