Hesperia Recreation and Park District is gearing up for summer and will be offering a Lifeguard Training course. Whether you’re looking for a summer job or want to add a valuable skill to your resume, this course is designed with you in mind. Simply pass a pre-course swimming assessment, and you’ll be on your way to learning lifesaving skills. Pre-registration is required before the course begins.
The course is designed to be engaging and hands-on, providing participants with essential skills that can be useful in a variety of emergency situations. The instructor, a certified Red Cross professional, follows the trusted training methods established by the Red Cross, which has been a leader in lifesaving education for decades. The techniques taught in the course are not only valuable for lifeguarding but also for general water safety and emergency response.
Hesperia Recreation and Park District encourages everyone over the age of 15 to participate. The course starts March 14, with the pre-course assessment at 4 p.m. The course fee is $75 and includes all materials, a CPR mask, and an American Red Cross certification card. There is a non-refundable $10 fee for the pre-course swimming skills assessment. Participants under 18 must have a parent sign a participation waiver before the in-water assessment.
