From dragons to dinosaurs, downtown Phelan played host to a myriad of costumed trunk-or-treaters on Halloween evening, October 31, 2023. All ages from the Tri-Community converged on the Stater Bros. parking lot, Phelan Towne Square, and downtown Phelan to spook the candy out of the local businesses, groups, organizations, and individuals participating in this year’s event. Like zombies on the prowl, their appetite for candy spread all the way to The Ranch Steakhouse.
The Village of Wrightwood was also bustling with families celebrating Halloween. The Wrightwood Property Owners, along with the Wrightwood CERT, helped 37 local Wrightwood businesses by supplying them with money donations and donated candy from the community, which came to a total of 92 bags. The majority of the bags being donated by Wrightwood Elementary School, with an impressive 77 bags of candy! The abundance of bags also allowed candy to be distributed to Fire Station #14 and the Big Pines Fire Station. When all of the candy disappeared, so followed the ghosts, goblins, and the ghouls. Into the darkness, the demons went away only to promise to return on the next Halloween.
