This June, a Summer Art & Nature Camp will be offered at Wrightwood Elementary School. This will be the first year for the event and is sponsored by, Drawing Together, a local non-profit founded by artist and Wrightwood resident Jamie Crooke Powell. The organization is dedicated to furthering arts education in schools and focusing on community-based creative art projects.
The summer camp will provide students the chance to appreciate art and nature while rotating through 3 different classes each day. Subjects include a music class taught by Wrightwood Education Studio, a visual arts class taught by Drawing Together, and a geology class led by Nature Reconnection School.
The week-long camp will be offered twice, from June 19th – 23rd and again the following week, June 26th- 30th. Classes will be held in the morning at Wrightwood Elementary School from 9:00 am-12:00 pm each day. The cost is $50 per child for the week and is open to children ages 6-12. Registration begins Wednesday, March 1st, and is limited to the first 60 students, so be sure to sign up early!
