The Disabled American Veterans High Desert Chapter 92 is hosting a Stand Down Outreach Benefit on Saturday, February 25th, at the Victorville Elks Lodge. The DAV is a non-profit organization helping veterans with benefits and claims assistance. Their mission statement reads, “We are dedicated to a single purpose: Empowering veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. We accomplish this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them […]” Service officers will be at the event from 9 am-4 pm to assist Veterans with submitting VA claims. They ask that Veterans bring a copy of their DD-214, a valid driver’s license or legal ID, and all medical-related documents. Also, an e-Benefits login and password will be helpful but unnecessary. Snacks and drinks and a chance to socialize with fellow servicemen and women will be offered. The Victorville Elks Lodge is located at 14041 Hesperia Rd. in Victorville. For questions, please call the DAV chapter phone at (760) 241-9647, and to learn more about the organization, visit their website at dav92highdesert.com
