Country Life Realty in Wrightwood is Under New Ownership

Tri-Community NewsPlus

Country Life Realty has recently undergone new ownership. Prior to the change, Rick Jones was the previous owner of Country Life Realty for 36 years. Today, the current owner is now Curtis Schneider, who has been part of the Wrightwood community for at least 20 years.

But what made Curtis originally come to be part of Country Life Realty, he says “ I was attracted to Country Life Realty because of the reputation this particular business had.” He also says “another thing that attracted me too was that the business was in Wrightwood, and I have my Bachelor’s in history and I know a lot about geography and with selling homes knowing about history and geography seems to go hand in hand. I also rented some homes with Country Life Realty before I even began working with Country Life Realty.”

Schneider’s journey into real estate began with encouragement and guidance from family members who had previously worked at Country Life Realty. “Well…” he says, “it all started with my ex-mother-in-law and ex-wife; they used to have a desk here at Country Life Realty, they really showed me a lot of things, such as knocking door to door for listings or looking for expires” and it was there that his journey in being a realtor really began.

For his first few years in real estate, he did as much as he could to be part of the Wrightwood community and had lived in Wrightwood 10 years before working at Country Life Realty. In 2018 and 2019, Curtis Schneider really began picking up more work than he had previously done. It was then that he realized he wanted to take over the business and now owns and operates Country Life Realty with the help of his employees.

Country Life Realty serves the community, not just by selling homes to new Wrightwoodians, but also by helping the community endure all of the natural disasters Wrightwoodians experience. Curtis says, “Enduring all of the natural disasters in Wrightwood for the last 20 years makes me even more invested in Wrightwood, not just to make sure we are surviving, but that we are also thriving again after any natural disaster.”

With Country Life Realty under new ownership, there are new goals ahead for the business as a whole. Curtis says his future goals not only include surviving as a business, but also to honor the agents who have been working with Country Life Realty for years, and to also bring on new agents who are locals that understand Wrightwood and the community itself. He also says he wants the business to not just be focused on being part of the Wrightwood community but also to become part of the greater Tri-Community. So coming soon, Country Life Realty will be branching their sponsorship down to the other neighboring towns in Phelan and Pinion Hills.

With new goals from the transfer of ownership, there are also more challenges ahead. “Real estate in general,” says Curtis, “there’s a natural cycle that happens, and when it comes to real estate, those things are cyclical, and there’s lots of things we can’t control like interest rates and geopolitical events but here specifically in Wrightwood, our challenge is specifically natural disasters, and we currently have a market where prices have gone up substantially.” He also says “but with all of this in mind it my duty to keep our sellers and buyers in touch with the market.”

As for the community’s response to the change in ownership? Mr. Schneider says, “The response from the community to the change in ownership was a natural transition, and the community has been supportive.”

Mr. Schneider expressed his appreciation to the residents throughout the Tri-Community for their continued support. “Thank you all for the support and thank you for being able to rally around someone who has proven themselves.” He also says to the Wrightwood community, “Keep being Wrightwoodians and thank you all for your support!”
