CORRECTIONS, CLARIFICATIONS & UPDATES STATEMENT
NewsPlus is committed to providing readers with accurate and timely information. Sometimes, we may publish stories before all pertinent information is available. Sometimes, we may unwittingly publish stories with incorrect or outdated information. NewsPlus takes credible accuracy concerns seriously, reviewing alleged factual errors and correcting confirmed material inaccuracies with appropriate transparency.
CORRECTIONS
NewsPlus issues corrections upon discovery and verification of a factual error, such as the misspelling of a name. For corrections issued to articles published online, an editor’s note will appear at the beginning of the article explaining the correction. For corrections issued to articles in print, an editor’s note will appear in a clearly labeled corrections section in the next available print edition.
CLARIFICATIONS
We may edit an online article after publication to clarify details, such as when a grammatical error hinders understanding or when it is unclear which source is saying what. An editor’s note will appear at the beginning of an online article explaining the clarification. Articles in print will not be edited.
UPDATES
NewsPlus strives to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information to our readers. Because of this, stories that are breaking or that otherwise rely on information that is periodically released may be updated to reflect the newest information. In such a case, the updates will be labeled and ordered in reverse chronological order at the beginning of the online article. Updates do not apply to printed articles.
MINOR EDITS
NewsPlus takes accuracy seriously and regularly reviews content to ensure it reaches our standards. At times we may issue minor edits that do not fall into these categories, such as typos and formatting errors, to online articles. Generally such edits do not impact the content or understanding of the story, so will appear without an editor’s note.
