April 17: Daily COVID-19 Update
FROM THE STATE:
Governor Gavin Newsom today announced the formation of a state Task Force on Business and Jobs Recovery. The Task Force will be co-chaired by Governor Newsom’s Chief of Staff Ann O’Leary and philanthropist, environmentalist, and businessman Tom Steyer, who was also appointed Chief Advisor to the Governor on Business and Jobs Recovery.
Members of the Task Force include Walt Disney Company Executive Chairman Bob Iger, former head of the Small Business Administration Aida Álvarez, Former Governors Gerry Brown, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gray Davis and Pete Wilson, Kaiser Foundation CEO Gregory Adams, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and an over 80 additional prominent leaders in business, labor, health care, academia, and philanthropy.
The Task Force will work to develop actions government and businesses can take to help Californians recover as fast as safely possible from the COVID-19 induced recession and to shape a fair, green, and prosperous future. They will meet twice a month throughout 2020 to develop options that would work for all Californians, with a particular focus on those hardest hit by the pandemic.

SB County has a goal to place over 300 temporary homeless trailers throughout the county to provide housing for homeless identified as extremely high risk for COVID-19. So far, 20 of the state-funded trailers have been placed at Glen Helen Regional Park.
Sheriff John McMahon and District Attorney Jason Anderson strongly oppose the Judicial Council’s ruling for 0$ Bail for minor felonies. Read the full story HERE.
The Red Cross is looking for Plasma Donations from recovered COVID-19 Patients. People who have fully recovered from COVID-19 have antibodies in their plasma that can attack the virus. This convalescent plasma is being evaluated as a treatment for patients with serious or immediately life-threatening COVID-19 infection. You Must be at least 17 years old and 110 pounds, in good health, and have had a prior, verified diagnosis of COVID-19 but are now symptom-free and fully recovered. Follow this link to donate.

Snowline Joint Unified School District announced today that on April 20, 2020, from 8:20 to 8:40 pm, they will show support for all Snowline seniors by shining the field lights. They are asking the Tri-Community to turn on outdoor lights during this time to help light up Snowline in honor of the 2020 graduating class.
